Grant Contract Signed between The Embassy of Japan to Armenia and CCD NGO for the Project “Drinking Water Supply in Jujevan Village”

On 29 November, the grant contract for “Drinking Water Supply in Jujevan Village” was signed at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia.

The contract was signed by Jun Yamada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia, and Hasmik Azibekyan, Head of CCD NGO.

On behalf of Minister Suren Papikyan and the Ministry, the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Vache Terteryan greeted the event participants and expressed gratitude to the Ambassador of Japan to Armenia for Embassy’s active participation in the target programs under implementation in Armenia. V. Terteryan emphasized the importance of the projects being carried out in the border communities and assured that the cooperation format which lies in the basis of the projects’ implementation will be one of the primary preconditions for effectiveness.

In his turn, Ambassador Jun Yamada expressed gratitude to the Ministry for its support, highlighting the importance of cooperation with the Ministry during the implementation of the projects. In his speech, the Ambassador mentioned it is no coincidence that the contract signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia, since he sees the future of Armenia through community and territorial development as well as through improvement of community infrastructures.

The project “Drinking Water Supply in Jujevan Village” ($68,382) will solve the problem with drinking water supply for 135 households (600 inhabitants) in Jujevan village.
