On 11-12 June “Buyer-Seller” conference organized in Dilijan

“Buyer-Seller” Conference organized by “Community Center for Development” Territorial Cooperation NGO took place on 11-12 June, in Dilijan, within the framework of “Tavush Region Integrated and Balanced Economic Development” project. The project is co-funded by the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

The Conference was attended by First Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of RA Vache Terteryan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Avag Avanesyan, Head of the Investment Policy Department at the RA Ministry of Economic Development and Investments Vahagn Lalayan, Governor of Tavush Region Vahe Ghalumyan, EU Pilot Regional Development Program Technical Assistance Team Leader Robert Girejko and experts Marta Sassella and Tatevik Khosroeva, “Business Armenia” Business Support team leader Hayk Mirzoyan, local and international investors, SME representatives from Tavush Region.

During the Conference around 15 business project proposals were represented to local and international investors willing to make investments in Tavush Region, ten of which were selected for further investment negotiation. About 10 Memorandums of Understanding were signed between Tavush Region SMEs and international investors which will serve basis for establishing joint entities of agriproducts production and processing in Tavush Region.

It is important to mention that among the approved proposals Ijevan mechanical enterprise got proposal to develop joint project directed to reprofiling the factory and establishing production of agricultural equipment and vehicles. Other proposals which were selected relate to winemaking, food processing, greenhouses, goat breeding, slaughterhouse establishment and meat processing, seedling production and plant protection laboratory, dairy production and agribusiness development sectors.

The conference was effective for the local businessmen and will serve basis for further constructive cooperation in the result of which creation of up to one thousand new jobs in Tavush will be possible during 1-2 years. Tavush Regional Administration and “Community Center for Development” Territorial Cooperation NGO agreed on organizing buyer-seller conferences annually to attract investments to Tavush Region.
