Working group of the Tavush Region Integrated and Balanced Economic Development project and members of the Steering Committee have held their first meeting to discuss the general structure of the project, expected results and implemented works for the reporting period (January– June, 2017) and the updated work plan for future activities.
Project researchers represented the value chains and subsectors studied in frames of BS/MR, baseline data of farmers and the main target groups of the trainings/consultations and the detailed selection criteria for the participants around the Tavush region.
During the discussion the attention focused mainly on problems, that were revealed during the research, such as training of farmers, small volume of production, low level awareness of farmers and the weak development of the value chains. Steering Committee presented main suggestions and the recommendations for the TRIBED project: provide large volumes of production, to have joint realization and ties between the farmers and market, special attention to innovations, anti-hail stations, alternative energy.
