The European Union Contributes to the Process of Attracting New Investments to the Tavush Region
On 22-23 June in Dilijan, Tavush region, “My Step for Tavush” investment conference was held under the patronage of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The conference aimed at presenting to local and foreign investors the potential of the region’s prospective and priority sectors, tools ensuring favourable business environment, opportunities for attracting investments, establishing new business ties, as well as creating new efficient business models through discussions and exchange of experience.
During the conference agricultural products produced in Tavush region as well as exhibits of processing and other sectors were presented in separate pavilions.
The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Armenia Gonzalo Serrano, the Governor of Tavush region Hayk Chobanyan, the UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp and UNDP Resident Representative Dmitry Mariyasin, CCD NGO President Hasmik Azibekyan delivered opening remarks during the conference.
The Conference was also attended by RA Government members, deputies of RA National Assembly, ambassadors, heads of international organizations, Armenian and foreign investors and businessmen.
The conference was organized by “Community Center for Development” Territorial Cooperation NGO and Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure within the framework of the “Tavush Region Integrated and Balanced Economic Development” project co-funded by the EU and the Government of Armenia. UNDP Armenia and “Ameriabank” were partners of the Conference.
